Serving Scouts with Special Needs and Disabilities

The fundamental concept underlying Scouting for youth with disabilities is the belief that all young individuals desire complete participation and equal respect within their units. Although there are units specifically designed for Scouts with disabilities out of practical necessity, past experiences have demonstrated that Scouting tends to thrive most effectively when every Scout is integrated into a standard unit.
