Scouting’s National High Adventure Bases . . .
provide Scouts, as well as Scouters, the opportunity to experience the Adventure of a Lifetime with their many and varied programs:

Philmont Scout Ranch – Cimarron, New Mexico
Florida Sea Base – Islamorada, Florida
Northern Tier High Adventure – Ely, Minnesota

The Summit Bechtel Reserve – Piney View, WV

To participate at a High Adventure Base, Scouts must be 14 years old, or 13 years old and have completed eighth grade.

Each year, Seneca Waterways Council organizes a Council Contingent to Philmont Scout Ranch. The contingent is made up of crews that trek across Philmont’s incredible backcountry. It is open to area Scouts, Scouters and interested qualified adults.

Some years, the council also offers a contingent to one of the other high adventure bases.
