The 2021 National Scout Jamboree!

Every four years, the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America organizes the ultimate Boy Scout experience, the National Jamboree! It is a National encampment that brings together Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and adult leaders from throughout the country, along with visiting Scouts from other parts of the world. It is the ultimate in Scouting experiences where you will be able to take part in mountain climbing, kayaking, rafting, shooting, SCUBA and many, many more activities, while meeting Scouts from around the world.

Youth Application
The Seneca Waterways Council will be sending 90 Scouts BSA and 18 Venturers to the 2021 National Scout Jamboree. If you want to be a part of this exciting adventure at the BSA’s newest high adventure base, click on the link below.

July 20 – 31, 2021 This includes travel day before and after the jamboree.

The Summit Bechtel Scout Reservation, Beckley, West Virginia

Council Adult Leader Fee:  $1500
This fee includes Jamboree fee, transportation, sight seeing, meals, uniform patches, medical insurance, duffel bag, day pack, and training weekends.

Youth Qualifications:
Scouts attending must be a registered Scout BSA or Venture Scout in the Seneca Waterways Council.  Scouts must be at least 12 years old and First Class rank by the time of the contingent’s departure (approx July 14, 2021).  All Scouts must be younger than 18 for the duration of the trip and Venture Scouts must be younger than 21 for the duration of the trip.

  • In good physical condition. A lot of physical activity and walking must be done.
  • Willing to be part of a group. Tasks will include setting up and tearing down the campsite, cooking, washing dishes, picking up food, and other campsite chores.
  • Participate in jamboree troop meetings and pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Submit a completed health and medical record before the pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Be approved by the Scout’s unit leader and the Council Jamboree Committee.
  • Agree to Participant Statement of Understanding and Code of Conduct.
  • Submit all registration fees by April 30, 2021.

Adult Qualifications:
Adults attending with the council’s contingent must be registered in the Seneca Waterways Council, interviewed by the Jamboree committee, and be approved by the Scout Executive prior to being able to register online. A limit of 3 adults (21 and over) and 1 young adult (between 18 and 21) will be selected for each unit that Seneca Waterways Council will send.
