Casting for Character

August 20th at the Port of Rochester Marina

The annual Casting for Character fishing tournament is a unique fundraising event on Lake Ontario, one of best fisheries in the Country. Participants will be part of a 4 person team assigned to a charter captain and will have the opportunity to fish for steelhead, salmon, lake trout and brown trout. All boats will be equipped with all necessary fishing supplies, food, snacks and facilities needed to guarantee an excellent fishing experience. Teams will fish for at least 4 hours followed by a banquet where prizes will be awarded to participants and captains.

Individual fisherman must possess their own NYS Fishing license, failure to obtain a license will
disqualify all members of the boat from participation in the LOC Derby prizes.

Proceeds benefit the programs of the Seneca Waterways Council, Boy Scouts of America serves nearly 11,000 youth in 480 different scouting programs.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the premiere agencies working with youth and adults in training aquatic safety. Annually over 1,000 adult volunteers go through Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense training programs locally. Over 1,700 Boy Scouts participate in aquatic training and safety programs from swimming to lifesaving to motor-boating.
