Some people walk a 5K.
Others tee-off for a hole-in-one.
We are Scouts… we do things with ropes!
On May 18, 2018 more than 80 people will rappel down the side of Kodak Tower with a common purpose - to support youth in the Scouting program! 21 Stories for Scouts is a life changing 240 foot descent down the Kodak building in downtown Rochester to benefit Scouting programs for 40 aftershool programs in the city of Rochester, and underserved at-risk youth throughout our five-county service area! It’s a fundraising event unlike any other in the Rochester area. In May of 2010, Seneca Waterways Council connected with Over The Edge (a Canadian company) to put on this unique fundraiser that identifies with Scouting.
There are many ways to participate and make a difference:
For a $1,000 donation in a single gift or through fundraising, anyone over the age of 14 can have this amazing experience for themselves ... and help give young Scouts once-in-a-lifetime experiences of their own that they get through unit activities and from attending one of our camp programs.
The rappel is synonymous with a young boy preparing to rappel the 30 foot wall at camp. At the top of the wall, there is trepidation and nervousness. But once you begin the descent, the feeling is exhilarating. And when you reach the ground, the feeling turns to one of great accomplishment.
